A 1981 graduate of John A. Logan College, Rodney earned his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Plant & Soil Science from Southern Illinois University in 1984.
Rodney recently retired after 45 years with UPS, where consistency, reliability, and customer service weren’t optional—they were the standard.
Alongside that career, he’s spent over 30 years as a licensed auctioneer and real estate managing broker, licensed in multiple states, giving him deep expertise in pricing, property value, and negotiating with confidence.
He’s a graduate of the Certified Auctioneer Institute at Indiana University and has served on the Auction Advisory Board for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Rodney is also well-known across Southern Illinois as the lead cattle auctioneer at Cattlemen’s Livestock in Wayne City and the Southern Illinois Equine Sale in Goreville.
Rooted in the region, Rodney operates a small cattle farm near Crab Orchard that has been in his family since 1854—making him fifth generation to care for the land.
He has a long history of supporting charities, churches, civic organizations, and individuals in need, and he’s proud to be involved in community-driven work that makes a lasting impact.
When he’s not working with clients, Rodney and his wife, Lynda, enjoy camping (especially in National Parks), and he’s an avid collector of antique tractors, tools, toys, and farm-related memorabilia.
